The Green Screen Debut
A few months ago, I bought a “poorman’s” green screen set-up. Sort of like what the weatherman uses on TV for composited video. The green screen makes it really easy to remove the green background and replace the video with something more interesting than a sheet (well, most of the time anyway). The set-up is nothing fancy, just basically a green sheet, pvc pipe, a few hooks and 3 small 250w work lights, but it worked remarkably well.
After I bought the set several months ago, I tucked it away and figured it’d make a fun rainy day activity over the winter. And it was.
I pulled out the set-up this morning, and Reed wrote, directed, produced and shot the video for the movie. The only thing I did was help with the video post-production (I type just slightly faster than Reed).
Here are a few shots of the day’s fun along with the video product (be sure to check that out):

We're Ready For Our Closeups

From the Director's Interview

I think I had more fun than the kids…got the giggles on a few of those shots. And both the kids and I learned some things about shooting with a green screen (lighting, camera shot set-up, etc).
Here’s our first attempt. I’m sure Reed will have another script very soon
.
Great job, Reed! You had a great cast…kudos to all! Luv, Nana~
