Stuck

Honey, where did you park the car?

Honey, where did you park the car?

We got an additional 3-4 inches of new snow on top of the 8-9 we already had.  So we’re stuck.  It’s been brutal weather up here in the Pac NW.

The picture below is of the deck railing posts behind Hall Central.  Reed cleaned the posts off last night so everything you see on the posts is new.

And the video below shows a picture of the stairs, which I had completely cleaned off yesterday in order to redeem myself with Hallie.  She rewarded me this morning with a group of “pellets” on the stairs.  I guess I deserved that, and who can blame her for not wanting to go outside in this stuff.

I put the chains on the truck this morning, and managed to get the angel tree gifts to the drop-off point.  Becky also ventured out, but I suspect she was needing a little break (and who can blame her).  I think the only vehicles moving in PDX right now are 4-wheel-drive.  Next to the iPod, this is man’s greatest invention.

We lost power for 4 hours at 8am this morning, but we’re back up (at least for now).

This is day 8 of solid snow & freezing rain.  The weatherman said that tomorrow’s supposed to be slightly better. I’ll leave the chains on the truck so we should at least be able to get out for a bit.

For those who care to monitor on-line, here’s a link to my favorite weatherman in PDX.  This guy gets it right 95% of the time.

Here’s a short video of the snow, and how we’ve been entertaining ourselves.  There are some pretty shots of the neighborhood.  As difficult as the conditions are, it’s really pretty here:
